ameer ISMAIL

Ameer Ismail is a force to be reckoned with. In his senior season at Western Michigan University, he led the NCAA in sacks with 17 and tackles for losses with 25.5. He is an elite pass rusher who lined up against the offensive lines of Florida State and Virginia, as well as against the likes of Joe Staley and Doug Free, both now in the NFL.
Ameer was relentless throughout the season, leading the team in tackles on seven occasions and registering double-digit tackles three times. His efforts helped lead the Broncos to their first bowl appearance in 18 years.
At the end of the season, he was not only named MAC Defensive Player of the Year, but was named to the AP All-American Second Team. This was the first time since 1985 that a Western Michigan football player was named to such a high honor. Ismail was one of only two players from the MAC to be named All-American, joining Northern Illinois' Garrett Wolfe, who was named to the Third Team.
