CAREER ACCOMPLISHMENTS

• Named most valuable defensive back for the 2006 & 2007 seasons.
• Honorable Mention All-NSIC ( 2007).
• Helped team to lead conference in pass defense (2007).
• Ranked 3rd in NSIC in passes defended (2007).
• Ranked 26th in D-2 in passes defended with 1.3/game. This would put him 23rd in D-1 statistics (2007).

CAREER HIGHLIGHTS

A 5-11, 195 pound senior cornerback from Houston, TX, James Miles made a big impression his senior season with four interceptions and 10 passes broken up, both second-best totals on the team. He had 38 tackles (30 solo) and made 5.5 tackles for loss, including half a sack. Miles also forced a fumble and blocked a kick. One of his biggest plays of the 2007 season may have been a 4th quarter blocked field goal against SMSU that kept the Marauders within six points of the Mustangs and allowed U-Mary to win the game on a last-second touchdown. Miles was named to the All-Conference team in 2007 and certainly would have garnered more Conference honors through his career had the U-Mary been eligible. Because of a change from NAIA to D-2, the University of Mary players were not eligible for conference or post-season honors until Miles' senior season.

In addition to his defensive prowess, Miles also excels in punt and kick returns, averaging 9.7 yards per punt return.

James attended Booker T. Washington High School in Houston, Texas where he was a three sport athlete: track, football and baseball. In fact, he turned down D-I baseball scholarships for the opportunity to continue his football career. James is the proud son of Travis Ann and James Miles, Sr. and has three sisters and two brothers.
